Alright, so far so good. It’s been over a week since the launch of www.finite-films.com. We’ve gotten some very nice feedback on the site, and it’s exciting to know that with its launch, Finite Films is a “real thing.”
After a big rush to get the site up and running, this past week has felt very quiet for the Finite Films team. We’re not scheduled to shoot the remainder of Stealing Time until the last week of May, and our first film, You Are Here, will have its premiere three weeks from now, on June 1.
So, for now, we’re trying to savor a bit of the quiet before the storm–because once June 1 hits, we’ll have our first set of constraints generated by the public, and then another set on July 1, and so on, and soon we’ll fondly look back on those two weeks in May when it felt like when we had nothing much to do.
Of course, there’s still work being done. Some lingering pre-production tasks for Stealing Time have to be sorted out. For one, we need to build a time machine. Which in involves figuring out what a time machine would even look like, and then somehow finding the elements to assemble it. The movie will actually be rather special effects heavy, and the multi-talented Michael Tucker is serving as our official VFX Supervisor on this project. We’ve been shooting various green screen test shots for the last couple weeks, making sure some of the trickier sequences I’ve envisioned for the film are actually possible. So far, the tests have been very promising.
