Anamnesis hits the festival circuit—and the Streamy Awards!

Since the release of Anamnesis in April, we’ve been working hard to promote the web series and expand its audience. With the infinite amount of content available online, it’s been hard to break through the noise—but the tide seems to be changing.

Just today, we found out we’ve been nominated in the Best Drama AND Best Indie Series categories in the 5th Annual Streamy Awards, which will be broadcast live on VH1 September 17th! Thanks to everyone who cast their vote online to help get Anamnesis nominated; we couldn’t be more excited to find our web series amongst the nominees this year.

Anamnesis is also gaining traction on the film festival circuit. With so much of the best storytelling shifting to television, it makes sense that festivals are increasingly looking to feature great TV pilots and web series. In June we had a blast attending the first-ever SeriesFest in Denver, CO. They screened all 5 episodes of Anamnesis as an hour-long pilot, and we were honored to be selected for the Best Director Award by the SeriesFest Jury!

Now, Anamnesis is about to hit several other film festivals across the country, beginning here in Los Angeles. On August 19th, we’ll be screening the first episode of Anamnesis at the TCL Chinese Theaters in Hollywood as part of the HollyShorts Film Festival. In late September, we’ll be screening at ITVFest in Dover, Vermont. In October, we’ll be at the Miami Web Fest and the New York Television Festival (NYTVF).

We’re thrilled to be a part of so many distinguished television-focused festivals this fall, and are going to try to make it in person to at least the Los Angeles, Miami, and New York fests. We’ll be blogging about our experiences at the festivals, and we’d love to see you at our Anamnesis screenings if you happen to live in any of these cities!

Below are some helpful links / information about each fest, as well as the Streamy Awards. Not all have posted exact screening dates or tickets yet, so check back as the festivals draw closer if you’d like to attend.

I'm a co-founder of Finite Films, and I directed the shorts Day 1000, Stealing Time, Occupational Hazards, Anamnesis, and Unsustainable. Of the 3 of us, I'm probably the most obsessed with film soundtracks and most likely to be called a "foodie" and/or "wino." Most recently co-wrote and co-directed Anamnesis: The Series.
